The answers to both Q's must be based on your personal beliefs & values & interests and your free will choices based on them, because there are no necessary and/or sufficient number of facts of any kind that will give you the necessary and sufficient knowledge you are seeking. The fact is there are no facts to determine what you chose to believe in ,what values to live by, and what interests to pursue. And there are no material facts to prove either God exists or does not exist. Belief in God and one's meaning and purpose in life is an existential choice of faith and hope that life is not meaningless or without purpose.

My Q does not endorse any choices,beliefs,values, or interests since that can vary from person to person. Belief in God is included and so is the meaning and purpose one choses. My point is that such Q's are not answerable based on any commonly agreed upon physical facts or any knowledge one poses about the universe or oneself. TWH 08222006

Someone, in the set of A's I got, went off on a tangent and spoke about miracles. I guess the Q " Is there a God?" within my Q about such kind of Q's drove them to address that Q. That was not the focus of my Q. That said I recommend the person who thinks that miracles are proof ask the Q themselves. Personally, I think that miracles are scientifically unprovable events that occur from time to time. Only people who believe in God-caused miracles, see certain good events as miracles. Science does not consider God a cause of anything , not even of the birth of the universe or the origin of life esp human life. TWH 08282006

can we include the chicken egg question in this-i'm fed up with that one too.
Oh-and another thing, why cant YA block repetitive questions like a note saying "apologies we are unable to submit your question as 6 billion million others have asked it-go look at THEIR answers if your so curious enough to p.i,,$$ off genuine Yahooers with this drivel"
Good point my friend.

it can also be based on proof. If a person who is diagnosed with a terminal disease for which there is no cure, is suddenly cured when someone comes and prays to Jesus for his/her healing, that would be called evidence. And the fact that someone was miraculously healed may shape a person's belief system. And the belief in God that ensues is not blind faith unsubstantiated in any way beyond mere thoughts hopes or wishes, it is a truth worth exploring - worthy of understanding.

Life is living for a purpose...
The purpose can be anything depending on the person!
Either travelling and seeing the world or helping a childs education!
there are dreams which all of us have and this is only reason we are surviving... Existence of god is similar to existence of air, sometimes u feel it is not there...while if its wind it gives u a soothing effect (good luck what we call).
And if its a storm its a badluck.
So the God is playing games in our imaginations!
this is my perspective...it doesn't matter if u disagree well u have mentioned that already!
So why force someone to realize and who r we to make someone realize??

opposite to huge-unfold perception this utilization isn't lazy or indecent neither is it as cutting-edge as a lot of you seem to think of. a minimum of as some distance returned because of the fact the time of the yankee Revolution pls or plz became into used quite than please in correspondence , returned after the creation of the telegraph, and maximum recently with the introduction of textual content messaging, and involved in the same reason, value. in the process the early days of our united states the two paper and ink have been high priced, so there have been time-honored approaches of abbreviation to cram as lots education right into a letter as achieveable pls (or plz) became into one occasion of this. whilst sending telegrams you have been charged by skill of the be conscious (as in typing each 5 characters no longer somewhat words) so as quickly as returned pls became into used (between many different shortcuts u for you etc) to make the sending of a message as least high priced as achieveable. As for textual content messaging, whilst first presented, you're able to keep in mind, we've been charged consistent with message we despatched, so cutting letters out of messages meant a single textual content must be despatched quite of two. It grew to enhance right into a habit that carried over onto the internet, even although the % for the abbreviation no long exists,,,,to be honest although i'm quite constructive you form ok or ok quite of Orl Korrekt that's the broadly time-honored unique word the abbreviation got here from, so are you able to truly solid stones?

With regards to the meaning of life, the only meaning that can have any real importance is that meaning we each create for ourselves. I think this could be said regardless of whether one believes in gods or is atheist. All it takes is an admission that we are sovereign, independent beings with free will; whether we have free will because nature evolved us as individual agents or because god gave it to us is irrelevant. Either there is a god who intended us to make our own decisions and control our own destinies, or there is no god and thus independence & individualism are the default positions.

Maybe if we make them listen to Superstition by Stevie Wonder... "If you believe in things that you can't understand, then you suffer superstition anyway"
For me that would include my car engine.

"What is the meaning of life?" is a question many people ask themselves at some point during their lives. Some people believe that the meaning of life is one or more of the following:
Survival and temporal success
* ...to accumulate wealth and increase social status
* ...to compete or co-operate with others
* ...to destroy others who harm you, or to practice nonviolence and nonresistance
* ...to die having succeeded in your purpose
* ...to live
* ...to protect one's family
* ...to gain and exercise power
* ...to leave a legacy, such as a work of art or a book
* ...to produce offspring through sexual reproduction or asexual reproduction
* ...to seek freedom, either physically, mentally or financially
* ...to seek happiness and flourish, experience pleasure or celebrate
* ...to survive, including the pursuit of immortality through scientific means (see life extension)
Wisdom and knowledge
* ...to be without question, or to keep asking questions
* ...to explore, to expand beyond our frontiers
* ...to learn from one's own and others' mistakes
* ...to seek truth, knowledge, understanding, or wisdom
* ...to try to discover and understand the meaning of life
* ...to expand one's perception of the world
Ethical
* ...to express compassion
* ...to live in peace with each other, and in harmony with our natural environment (see utopia)
* ...to give and receive love
* ...to seek and acquire virtue, to live a virtuous life
* ...to serve others, or do good deeds
* ...to work for justice and democracy
Religious, spiritual and esoteric
* ...to turn fear into joy at a constant rate achieving on literal and metaphorical levels: immortality, enlightenment and atonement
* ...to achieve a supernatural connection within the natural context
* ...to achieve enlightenment and inner peace
* ...to become God, or God-like
* ...to experience existence from an infinite number of perspectives in order to expand the consciousness of all there is (i.e. God)
* ...to follow the "Golden Rule"
* ...to produce useful structure in the universe over and above consumption (see net creativity)
* ...to reach Heaven in the afterlife
* ...to understand and follow the "Word of God"
* ...to worship, serve, or achieve union with God
Other
* ...to advance natural human evolution, or to contribute to the gene pool of the human race
* ...to advance technological evolution, or to actively develop the future human
* ...to contribute to collective meaning ("we" or "us") without having individual meaning ("I" or "me")
* ...to die, or become a martyr
* ...to find a purpose, a "reason" for living that hopefully raises the quality of one's experience of life, or even life in general
* ...to live, and enjoy the passage of time
* ...to have fun
* ...to protect humanity, or more generally the environment
* ...to pursue a dream, vision, or destiny
* ...to relate, connect, or achieve unity with others
* ...to seek and find beauty
* ...to simply live until one dies (there is no universal or celestial purpose)
* ...to participate in the chain events which has led from the creation of the universe until its possible end (either freely chosen or determined, this is a subject widely debated amongst philosophers)
* ...still some do not even think there is any purpose whatsoever (see nihilism)
* ...(This is actually an extension of the point immediately above) There is no inherent meaning to life, existence, the universe, etc. They exist because they can. However, humans appear to inately give meaning, usually many, often conflicting, to what they are conscious of. So, to each individual, the "meaning of life" is whatever they decide it is. In that sense, every point above is potentially valid.
