Okay, so here's the situation: You're in your home in your city/town/etc, when on the TV flashes news that the dead have risen in masses and are closing in on your city. It is estimated the infection will spread to your area in 12 hours. What would be the first thing you do? Would you try and rough it out in your home, loot shops, attempt to run, or mabye buy weapons and battle the zombies? Best answer goes to the most interesting.

First up, call all my family and friends...rally them all up at a central location. Jack all the pre-paid cell phones we can get our hands on, and ofcourse all the "airtime" minutes to boot. Steal as much food and water/sodas as we can, and go to the nearest bank. Put all the elderly, slow, wussy, scared, women (wussy women that is) and children in the safe, and lock them up...with the supplies ofcourse. We would keep in touch with all the free airtime cell phones we just jacked. THEN, get the fighters, make a quick stop at the local Big 5 for some serious sports gear...bats, bow and arrows, flares, fishing rods, baseballs, rat poison...you name it. THEEEN go to the nearest firearms depot, and " purchase " some weapons. Grenades, shot guns, Uzis (from our russian friends that is) EVERYTHING!
After which we would rally all the fighters to the nearest military base, jack ourselves some military grade firepower, (for the final confrontation...everyone knows there's a final boss confrontation in every zombie takeover) PLUUUS some H1 humvees. Then, we'd assign military positions to everyone, and keep on moving. Setup napalm blockades all around the city. Snipers on the roof tops, demolition experts in wide open areas ( so as to blow up a gynormous building right on top of the flesh eatin' fools, and re-kill a bunch of them) and ofcourse a Delta Force type stryke team...which would be running around (all organized ofcourse because of our free airtime talk anywhere cell phones.....with bluetooth headsets.....with the cool emanating blue light...just like in all the cool movies) AND STAVE ALL THE FOOLS OFF.....till there was a cure. And we'd periodically check up on our folks and friends back at the bank, see if their ok. Well, how bout thems applez?

Important question! When the dead rise, are you only talking human dead? Will animals come back to life? what about dinosaurs? plants? extinct volcanoes?
If it is only recently dead humans I'm fine. I live on an island with a small population. I would have to worry about some of the wildlife though and there's no way I could get away from the volcano I live next to.
I'm not much of a fighter so if I felt that there was an immediate threat but it would be resolved quickly, I'd take my dad's boat to sea for a couple days. If I thought it would last for weeks or months, I'd try to stay at the supermarket where I work as much as possible. I'd have food and water and it'd be fairly defendable.

I love zombie movies! I have seen them all and know the best course of action is to take up shelter in a mall with a fully stocked food court, get with some awol army guys who have guns strapped to every inch of their body, side with the hot chick who is half zombie, and for godsakes- RUN when the music starts to sound creepy and then suddenly stops.

I'd totally steel every gun i can find plus grenades or something.
Then i'd fight them until i was just about to be overtaken by them when i would kill myself. This is since it would be better to be dead then be a zombie and continue to make others zombies!!!

Simple and straightforward....zombies? that want to eat my flesh and brains? No brainer there, transportation outta there, (preferably of the bus smashing zombie variety)... followed by weapons. Really, what else is there?
