When I was young, my Mom and I saw a man smash his wifes head against a wall.....my Mom called the police, :( poor lady didn't have the courage to charge him.
My sister and I saw a drunk lady and her friends reverse her car across a street and take out 2 signs then drove into a store, they tried to run away, but they were so drunk they didn't get far, the store guy had grabbed them until the police came.
We didn't know what to do except laugh at the fools trying to run away.....nobody was hurt....dam lucky for her.

It wasnt really a crime as such, it was what someone concluded was a crime, and in trying to stop the imagined crime, he commited a worse crime himself. I was sitting in a shopping center parking lot one evening, as I had just stopped at a fast food place and was eating my meal. I saw a large chevy dually pull into a parking place, and a man got out and walked over to a pay phone and was making a call, and turned so that his back was to his truck behind him. As he was talking on the phone, Another chevy dually, the same year and color, pulled into the parking spot right next to the first guys truck, on the side closest to the payphone where the first guy was still talking. A man and his family were in the second truck, and the man got out and went into the store for a few minutes. shortly afterward, the second man came back out if the store and got into his truck and started it, when the first guy heard the identical truck start, he looked around and thought, reasonably, I suppose, that it was his truck, as his truck was blocked from veiw by the second truck. Well, he dropped the phone right in mid speech, and ran over and pulled the door of the second truck open and began wailing on the guy driving, because he thought he was stealing his truck. The second man's wife was screaming from within the truck and trying to fend off the first guy, not even realizing why this crazy man was attacking her husband, they were fighting it out for a while, then the first guy saw his own truck parked right where he left it, and just sort of melted as he realized what was happening. as this went on I could see that he was feeling realkly bad about what had happened, but the second guy looked like he had a broken nose, and was all bloody, and his wife and kid were sobbing, still not really realizing what had happened. Finaly the cops came and ended up taking the first guy to jail for battery, and the second guy had to go to the hospital. It was a really bizzare and surreal thing to witness, and I felt bad for everybody. How weird!

I lived in NY City for years, and unfortunately I saw a lot of crime. It was mostly drug dealing and prostitution, but there were some violent crimes as well. I witnessed several muggings and beatings. The worst I saw were two suicides. One I saw occur, the other I only saw after the fact, but it was worse because it was a mother who took her infant child with her.

Hi,,,,, I worked as a plain clothes detective in a national retail chain store for years.... I saw plenty of crime.. first hand... stealing stuff ,,,, using baby carriers to put stuff in.. various and assorted ways of stuffing things to get out of the store with..... and then,,,, we had the employees stealing also.... so we had to watch them....
Then,, after college,, i was a State Investigator,, and witnessed a bank robber running out of the bank he had just robbed,,, a city policeman and I gave chase and caught him.... and recovered the money.....(that was the highlight).....
good luck

I was 6 living in Detroit with my family. I was in the car with my mom pulling up to our house when a big van pulls behind us and 4 big dudes run up, pull a gun on my mom, grabbed her purse and, thank God, just knocked her down and took off. Pretty freakin scary at 6 years old.
