I read "Chemistry for Dummies" for fun.

I purposely look for new age or meditation type music.

I study Eastern religion for fun.

I have read the phone book before.

I like theatre, art museums, meditation/philosophy groups, listening to jazz and orchestra bands, and film making.

I was an actor in my high school and college plays, and played in the band from 4th grade until I graduated high school.

I have an Albert Einstein quote on my keychain.

I have a rubix cube.

I have a poster of the periodic table in my bedroom.

I know words like "sternocleidomastoid", "trapezius" "sphygmomanometer" among others

I was in gifted classes, National Honor Society, all that other scholastic crap.

I hate night clubs because of the noise and smoke.

I prefer to read about something new in a book or online than go out with my friends.

I'm not trying to brag on myself or anything, but I don't see me as a nerd. Am I in denial?

Lol...I read the phone book just to prove to myself that I could, and also, because I was originally from a VERY small town (population under 1,000) and moved to a large city (San Antonio, Texas) the phone book actually fascinated me. I wanted to know what there was to do, where it was, where my neccessities were, ect. So yeah, I ended up just reading the phone book. I got curious. Like I wanted to know stuff like "ok, I'm in San Antonio..I wonder how many "Martinez's" there are here?" and stuff like that.

Some would label you as a nerd, while other's would consider you an intelectual. I don't really have any problems with what you just described...except for the fact that you listen to Jazz. That is one type of music that I just CAN'T stand. I'd rather listen to Country (of which some of it is pretty decent) than listen to Jazz. The Jazz genre has ABSOLUTELY NO rythm or beat. That messes me up, because I'm all about uniformity and rythm

There is nothen wrong with being nerdy. hell even I read the phone book, front to back just to check out the names though, and see what types of businesses her are it can be a good way to pass the time.

sounds like me except for the whole phone book thing, rubins cube, and einstein quote... but I do have an einstein keychain with his tongue sticking out. A thirst for knowledge is not dorky! :o)

nah- nerd is such a loose term. Some of the coolest people I know are brainiacs. Although the phonebook thing- dear god why?

Neither. You're smart and creative.... a sign of being sexually unattractive to most girls your age. It will all catch up to you. Just try to be healthy as you continue to investigate 'knowledge'.
