AVG Free anti-virus. It is free, and does a very detailed scan. It offers POP3 incoming e-mail scanning. It is updated very regularily, and protects against trojans and viruses. It has a heal option if you find an infected file. The scans are fast.

There are several good virus scanners. Four good Virus-Scanners which are free for home use are:

AVG From Grisoft:

Alwil Avast Anti-Virus:

http://www.avast.com

Avira AntiVir:

BitDefender:

(Please note that BitDefender does not have Real-Time Protection but it is the best Virus-Scanner out of these 4)

Avast its free and it is effective. I like that it scans your computer in boot up mode. I have also used AVG and like it too. I would not recommend Norton unless you are planning to properly configure it for your computer. It is the only company I have had problems with. I have used Trendmicro's housecall it is good. Have used McAfee it was also good but those last two are not free. You can however use online virus scanners like Trendmicro or Panda software to do free virus scans, but your vulnerable right after the scan unless you have up to date virus protection.

May be problem is not anti virus scan, try to reinstall windows or remove some programs or disable some starup programs. You should also try to defrag HDD, delete junk files,...

If wanna try different anti virus software, I recommend Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition v. 10 if u can afford or download it :)) If not, AVG is a good choice.

hi, perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus. but you need to pay for the software.

i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:

1. Download AVG Free Edition http://www.grisoft.com for antivirus.
2. Download Ad-Aware SE Personal http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10045910.html for antispyware.

TrendMicro has the best anti-virus program.

Try deleting the temporary files and cookies. They will slow your computer down to a crawl!

Get Ad-Aware SE for free and run it often to get rid of spyware which also slows your computer down. http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

Do a virus scan of your computer. Housecall will scan and clean any viruses found on your computer. http://housecall.antivirus.com/

I work tech support at a local ISP and we get so many problems related to Norton and McAfee. Not to mention the massive amount of system resources they suck up.

I always recommend AVG. It's free and works just fine.
