I know just how you feel. I'm 22 now and I've had acne since I was 8. I think my acne is mostly stress induced, but what I use is a method I picked up from www.Acne.org. They recommend 2% benzoil peroxide and a lot of it. This will most likely make your skin very dry, so you have to use a really good moisturizer. I personally use 10% benzoil peroxide twice a day. While the acne isn't completely gone and sometimes I look like my face is falling off, it's still keeping away the big huge zits I used to get.
Once you get most of the pimples cleared up you'll be able to tell what's red from scarring and what's actual acne. There are some products that say they can remove acne scars, but they cost a lot. That's something a dermatologist can help with.
Nature's Cure also worked very well. The cream they have is 10% benzoil peroxide, and the pills for all I know could be a placebo but if you have the kind of skin I have, anything is worth a try. I don't think Proactive has really worked for anyone, I think those people on the infomercials are all paid so much they'll say anything. You actually expect me to believe Lindsay Lohan keeps that crap in her car?
If you're male, I really feel for you because you can't hide behind make up like I can, and that tinted crap they sell at the stores is a joke. If you're female, I suggest getting something that isn't very oily, I use maybeline mousse or something like that. It's thick and kinda foamy, so I use a makeup wedge to apply it and that means there's even less oil on my skin since I'm not touching it with my hands. I only wear my makeup when I really need to, and the minute I get home I run to the bathroom and wash my face and put my benzoil peroxide on.
I've always been depressed about the way I look but I was somehow blessed on my wedding day. That was the only day in the last 14 years I didn't have a single zit on my face. So for anyone who reads this and has bad skin, just know that karma exists! People who make fun of you now for the way you look will end up with a child someday with the same skin problems you have now, and they'll find out what it does to a person to tear them down because of something they can't control.
Good luck!

First of all you should know that even if you do have some acne, you are still beautiful. Never let anyone make you feel inferior. Acne is one of those "temporary things". You'll see that in a few years your acne will go away and looking back at this now you'll see that you really had nothing to worry about. Now to treat your acne...first of all you should go to a dermatologist. If you are already seeing one you should ask him or her to prescribe something stronger. In the mean time, try using some over-the-counter medications like neutragena or clean and clear. Choose a type that is good for you. If you find that your skin is very oily try a cleanser that is good for treating oily skin. Also try using a product that can deep clean your pores such as "Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips" by Biore.
Good Luck!

I am so sorry. It sounds like you've tried good products and not found the success you're looking for. Getting rid of acne can take a great deal of time and commitment. No one here's gonna have a magic potion that will make it *poof* go away. And if they offered you one, you'd only be more disappointed. I encourage you to go back to your doctor. Work with her/him until you together achieve the results you need. It takes time and commitment on your part. But you can find relief. And if that doctor won't listen find another good dermatologist. They are out there. Hang in there. You're not alone and you don't have to do this alone.

try a redness therapy facial (especially for acne sufferers), you have to go in for several treatments at about $60 a pop but its well worth it I had severe acne scars from scratching my pimples and it has helped alot go and see a good dermatologist they should be able to help you with that.
Good Luck with that!

P.S products like proactive and clearasil are only for early signs, but I'm not an expert, this is just from my experience, so yeah go and see a Dermatologist.

Where some makeup but not to much. You just need to deal with it. You will get through it! Remember you are not alone! There are thousands of people in the world in the same boat as you.

my friend's acne was pretty bad until she started using the Clinique system (sold in department stores). it worked great for her! if not accutane will probably definitely do the job...you just have to be really careful with it because it can have some serious side effects.

Go to a dermatologist, and keep up with whatever treatment he gives you. It might take awhile to clear up (I'm talking up to half a year), but eventually, it will. Be gentle to your face, too. Only wash with warm water and a cloth, stay away from make-up, and always use sunscreen.

Accutane is prescribed for extremely severe acne, and it does work. It has side effects and the doctor must monitor you and give you tests throughout the time you take it. Talk to your doctor about it and see if he/she thinks it's right for you.

Try dried, used coffee grounds. Just make sure they do not go down the drain. Just rub them on your face like you use soap. Also, Sea Salt is very helpful.
