Which are your favourites Space Science films? I am not talking of Science Fiction movies, but documentaries. My personal favourites are CARL SAGAN'S COSMOS by and SPACE - BY SAM NIEL (BBC).

Carl Sagan's Cosmos for me too. And The Elegant Universe. Both I've watched in physics class.

One recent documentary which is pretty cool is HOW WILLIAM SHATNER CHANGED THE WORLD. It shows how the fictional devices on Star Trek (tricorders, star drives, etc. ) fueled the imagination to actually build these devices. Both educational and entertaining!

The dream is alive. Its filled with beautiful images of Earth from space. It also has some very unique angles of the shuttle program. This film was produced by NASA. I believe it was originally shot in IMAX.

"Close Encounters of the Third Kind".

I know that you think that is was science FICTION, but many people said that it changed their minds about the reality of UFOs. So it must have been a documentary.

I liked the HBO mini series, "From the Earth to the Moon". It is available on DVD as a 5 disk set for rent or purchase.
