If you don't have a stall in the library, use your bedroom. Hang a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door and lock it. Ignore anyone who knocks.

IMO, those would be the best places to study alone and quietly. If a library is not quiet enough for you, I think you might need noise-cancelling head phones. I'm definitely buying a set when I head off to college.

for reading and note taking try a national park or forest....
for writing if you have a laptop you can also do this in a park or forest.... if you are using a pen and paper... then it might be easier at a desk or table somewhere....

I have been known to study in quiet cafe, in a public library, at the beach, in a park...... anywhere I felt I could take in what I was learning...

hope some of these ideas help...

Have you tried using an ipod soft new age music or using walkman of some sort, with insert earphones that plug into your ears and tune the radio to "white noise"? I do this around very loud cell phone talkers on the train.

Public and University Libraries always have private rooms that are sound-proofed. Ask at the reference desk.

Try the Library.

If you have your own space ship..... outer space is quiet or a tree fort or a local cave or inside one of the boxes newspaper carriers get their papers from or under the kitchen table with a very large table cloth draped over it or a funeral hall or on the roof or in the attic or in your bedroom. Hope this helps.

I usually went to a random classroom. If the buildings are open its great, but if not, Library was always good.
