I do hope you're a blogger, or even better, a columnist for a major newspaper. My sentiments exactly. He certainly doesn't speak for me or "my government". But, my gawd, what are we gonna do?!? How is it possible for this country to have sunk so low in such a short (almost 6 years now) period of time? If only we could call these past 6 years "the Bush Regime" and tear this period of time out of the history books and out of our consciousness and distance ourselves with finality, for infinity. God love ya!

George W. Bush's leadership as president these past five years have been a one huge disaster after another. We now have huge budget deficits that appear to be growing out of control. We have a very costly war on Iraq that is going on way too long. We have spiraling trade deficits and American corporations moving their factories and personal off shore. We have wealthy individuals paying a smaller percentage of their incomes in taxes then middle class workers, and who are using off shore tax havens to avoid paying taxes. We have a new Medicare bill that is full of corporate welfare and is costing much more than we were originally told. We had a energy deregulation scandal in California that Bush refused to stop. We had huge corporate scams that robbed shareholders, employees, and creditors of billions of dollars. And this list could go on and on.
All these facts show that the American people should fear George W. Bush for who he is (a liar and a thief), and what he really stands for (fascism). And the Republicans in Congress have been in lock-step with him every step of the way. We must never again allow these type of people back into our government.

the only time i think of that George Bush might call the US an "empire" is that if he made a style of speaking blunders he's so renowned for. in spite of everything, it rather is the dictionary definition. a million. a team of countries or peoples ruled over via an emperor, empress, or different effective sovereign or government: frequently a territory of greater beneficial quantity than a kingdom. 2. a central authority under an emperor or empress. 3. the historic era wherein a rustic is under one in each and every of those government. 4. suited power in governing; imperial power; sovereignty 5. suited administration; absolute sway 6. a effective and substantial business enterprise or conserving of extensive scope that's controlled via a single individual, kin, or team of acquaintances quantity a million does not in good shape, via fact George isn't an emperor or a monarch, neither is he element of a effective senate like the Roman Empire. quantity 4 and 5 do no in good shape, via fact no count how plenty power you think of he would desire to have, he nevertheless desires the consent of congress, and can be prosecuted via the courts if it rather is shown he did some thing unlawful. finally, quantity 6 does not in good shape, via fact the US isn't an business enterprise, or business enterprise entity. i think of that at this factor, no person may be taken aback if he called the US an empire, yet i do no longer think of many human beings might help him in calling it that.

Weapons of war are not Weapons of Mass Destruction unless they are atomic, chemical or biological. Your sayiing so does not change the dictionary or the law.
"Regime" seems to imply control over Congress and the Judiciary. Itis true that both have been seized by the Republican Right, but Bush is losing control since he now lacks popular support and (as you suggest) has gone beyond his legal powers.
But to bring sales of arms to Israel into this is beside the point. Russia has sold similar arms to Iran and Syria, who have given them to Hezbollah. Except for airborne arms, since Hezbollah does not, or not yet, have an air force.
As for "arrests in UK", something I happen to know something about, you likewise have missed the point. The UK signed a new extradition treaty with the USA and although the US hasn't ratified it, the UK -- which is a "dualist" country whose treaties have to be legislated into force by Parliament -- has put it into force. On the basis that it would be used to extradite terrorists expeditiously. As it happens, it hasn't been used for that, but rather to extradite bankers (whom the UK declines to prosecute) for various offenses vaguely related to the Enron scandal. And other financial crimes, real or imagined.

You can start feeling sorry for the Bush Presidency because he has earned a slot in the race for the worst leader in American history. And the slop Bush has caused is only getting worse.
