Tools Internet Options Clear History.

That works about 99 percent of the time. If it does not go into tools and find the autocomplete, turn it off, close brower, open browser, turn it back on.

when u type in the letter, press the down arrow keys and then press delete to get rid of each one. also to make sure it doesnt happen again got to Tools > Internet Options > Content > Autocomplete clear ur autocomplete history and disable it. so u wont have to go deletin again.

clearing ur history in the General tab will only delete the sites u've visited not the items uve searched for

Have a close look at the icons on the tool bar. Can you see a small black upside down triangle at the side of every icon, well if you click on it a drop down menu will appear with all sorts of things on it.
The one you want is on the left of the search box. look for options and personalize your tool bar.
you can also highlight the search and press delete on your keyboard.
