Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! I've become a sunburn expert, I've been burned so many times. And why is it that we always get burned right before something important (I was fried the day of graduation)?
Aloe vera works the best, but feels kinda gross. If you don't have a plant nearby, the gel you get from the drugstore works just as well. Lotion and a facial moisturizer work well too. The trick is keep your skin as hydrated as possible, that way it will turn to tan quickly and reduce the risk of peeling. Make sure you drink lots of fluids, take some tylenol if you need to, and stay out of the sun until you heal. Also, like someone else mentioned, white vinegar and water helps too. Dip a washcloth in the solution and apply in to the burned areas, repeat.
If you follow these instructions, you should be significantly less red in two days. Good luck, and feel better!

Buy some 100% aloe vera gel and put a thick amount on the burn througout the whole day. It will soak into the burn quite quicly so buy a large bottle and be prepared to reapply it every hour or so. I had a really bad sunburn and it turned into a tan within a couple days after I applied a lot of aloe vera gel.

I have had good results by using Aloe Vera. It grows all around the place, especially by the ocean or water. It looks like Cactus. Ask a neighbor, or buy some at most stores. It is very healing.
Have a great time!

I know it sounds crazy, but have someone take white vinegar and pour it on a washcloth and pat your skin with the cloth over the burned parts of your body. This will take the heat out of the skin and once you do that put aloe vera on the skin to prevent drying. Repeat this several times until you get relief.

Not sure if this will work in 2 days, but if you want to try something that works way better than aloe vera then try Cactus Juice. It works better than anything else I have tried.

Yah. Melaleuca.com has a product for this and it works really quickly. It carries tea tree oil in it which is excellant for all skin. There's nothing harsh in it so there's no weird side affects.
And the lotions they carry have really helped 2nd and 3rd degree burns.

Try a lot of cold showers or a cold bath.
Or go swimming in the ocean (but keep out of the sun)

I just heard from my friends, that you can put the wet tea bag on your skin, to get rid the redness. Perhaps you want to try.

Yes try mustard yes mustard has distilled vinegar in it. It will also neutralize the burn which takes away the pain. I learned this from working in the kitchen
