Which is better,Lionel Messi or Wayne Rooney?

I would definitely say Lionel Messi.Look at my nickname and my picture,I'm a big fan of him!! Somehow,please give your opinions on who is better by considering all aspects:football skills,speed,stamina,looks,attitude and the list goes on..

They are very different. I like Lionel Messi more, I think that his skills, speed, attitude are better. I don't really like Rooney, but he is in the right country. He plays it hard and uses his muscles a lot and that works for him in England, but he doesn't have the same soccer skills as Messi so I don't think that he would do good in Spain for example. But Messi can do good everywhere.

Maybe it's just that my country is EPL crazy but I do hear a great deal about Rooney. Don't know much about Messi on the other hand--but from what I do know he seems less violent and is able to carry himself better.

They are both very talented, however, Rooney will never be able to achieve his fullest potential if he blows up every time something untoward happens. Messi has a clear path to superstardom though.

Both endorse Nike for insane amounts of money.

I am naturally critical on the subject of looks, but I feel that Rooney looks like a pug and Messi looks like a beagle.

although i like Messi overall, i'm no less fond of rooney, tho both have their individual strengths and weaknesses.

Rooney has great strength, stamina, power, can keep defenders away from ball, above avg. footwork and xcellent hitman abilities. his weakness is tht he can't help 2 much around the midfield, too much media attention has made him more prone to controversy(this is not his fault though- its the british media).

Messi has speed, extremely slick footwork, light feet, quick mover and can break up a defence with lighting fast and accurate moves and passing. he is not a natural marksman but is a valuble scoring asset and can cause havoc in the midfield, eings or up front. he has the playboy look and is extremely marketable. he lacks stamina and strength(compared to rooney), is not physical

Messi of course, he's matured as well, a better dribbler. Rooney packs power in his shots, but he just has the British media behind him.
You should compare Messi with Christiano Ronaldo.

Are you kidding me?! Messi by a mile! He’s quicker on his feet, has better dribbling skills, scores more consistently, he’s more disciplined and can focus on his game well, no sulking fits and psycho episodes for him, and if he gets himself injured in a match, it’s a vital body part, not a miserable toe. Plus, thank god, Messi doesn’t waste his time writing autobiographies nobody will ever bother to read.
