all my friends call me goth and ghetto and punk but mostly gothic....but i dont belive i am.....black and dark blue r my favoite colors...i like green day-afi-3 doors down-nickleback-any rapp music-panic at the disco-i luv shopin at hot topic-i like wearin black-skatboarding-i luv "bad boys"-but i have a gulyside too...not much of it though....shud i just agree with my friends and accept im goth.....or do u think there wrong? not all my friends call me goth though so wat am i doin wrong....or can i be goth/gurly/rock/ghetto???

I saw a bunch of those freaks at Disneyland this past weekend. My poor kids went to go see some Princesses and maybe Mickey Mouse but all we got to see were out of shape and digruntled teenagers wearing black clothing in 80 degree weather.
Hey...stop worrying about who you are and what you wear. Just do well in school, play a sport, and stay off drugs. Before you know it it'll be time to get a real job and nobody I know hires vampires with pot bellies.

No, you're absolutely correct. You are not goth or gothic.
You don't listen to a single gothic band.
It helps if you think of "goth" as a synonym for "gothic music fan". If you are not a fan of gothic music, than no matter what anyone else says, you can not POSSIBLY be a goth.
If you'd like to be a goth, I suggest you give the music and subculture a good look before you jump in. It might just not be for you. Maybe you're more pop-punk. That's just fine.
You also need to keep in mind that being accepted as a "goth" may not win the attentions of your "bad boys"--if they ARE goths, they'll probably just call you a poser for changing who you are to get them to like you...that's always a bad idea.

more like... WHY would you want to be? I'm sorry for dissin' it, but the whole thought of putting your life's goals into looking like death, showing death in your posture, and the friends you hang with is not the way to go anywhere in life. Life is a long long time and why would you want to even waste 2 hours thinking about death or the opposite of life just because some punk guys sing a cool song or your friends do it?.. Live you life like it was your last. Make it count, listen and help others....give to others....succeed in life and then help others to do the same. You will find it so much more rewarding.

You're not goth. Goths dont love shopping, or Nickleback etc. I think you might be different to your friends, so they try to find another group to put you in, to make it easier for them. It's their problem, not yours. Be yourself, and take pride in being different. People who act the same are so boring!

I don't think you can listen to Nickelback and 3 Doors Down and really be goth. Maybe qausi-goth, or "has goth tendencies".

Who cares? You are YOU and that is PERFECT! The next time you are told you are goth, just say," No, I'm (insert name here)!" You don't have to fit a certain stereotype. Just be yourself and buy whatever clothes you wan to buy, listen to whatever music you want to listen to! Have fun!

lol, my friends do the same thing...wel, just b yourself, if you like shopping @ hot topic, go ahead and shop there reguardles of what other people say, even if they're your friends..it's your life.
goth, gurly, ghetto. all labels...it shouldnt matter what people label you and whether o not they label you
