I personally think it is self-brainwashing and similar to an addiction.

Excellent question. I wish everyone would realize that there is no text that is accepted as fact by all people.
By the way, a true Christian is anyone who believes in Jesus. I find it offensive when someone says that you have to believe in the Bible to be a Christian. I believe in the general idea, but not some of the specifics.

Can anyone prove that it wasn't true? Either case until anyone can prove it false then what is to say that it is not true and science has nothing to do with the bible. Know the difference between sci-fi everything else out there. Can you prove to me otherwise? If you can please tell me. How did you come to be you and what is the origin of man? It is hard to prove evolution, isn't it? how was the first organism created? Please, if you are such a genius tell me.

They don't. They cite it as what it is: a historically chronicalled collection of prophecies, observations, and suggestions which have shaped human civilization for the last two millenia. Whether you are a Christian, a Jew, or a non-believer, there is much wisdom in there...and that's why we quote it! (-:

Because if you are a true Christian, the Bible is the Word of the Lord - the center of our beliefs. We base our knowledge and understanding of the Lord on the Bible. To us, it is the truth - the one written reference to our faith.

them same as ancient Greece, Athenians look into the Cycliad (Iliad and Odyssey) for answers

becuase there too narrow minded and ignorant to believe that people dont just die and are gone and have to believe theres life after death in heaven even thought we make up like .0000000000000000000000000000001 % of the universe. and to the guy below me... prove that god created the man and scientist are proving the thesis of evolution, right now i think its becuase like a metoer hit the god dam earth.. oh oops i said god in vain............
