Water is a good analogy for the trinity. It can simultanously exist as a solid (ice) liquid (water) and a gas (vapour) yet it is the same substance.

Trinity is a jury-rigged concept that was set up to explain discrepancies in the nature of Christ. Until Nicae in the 5th century, there were several schools of thoughts that had very different opinions. For example, the Aryans, a christian branch from Alexandria, Egypt (which have nothing to do with WWII) refuted the divine nature of Christ and saw him as a prophet, somewhat as the muslims do. Unless you want to go through that debate all over again, I don't think you should expect a Muslim to believe or even to understand you. He might even find you blasphemous...

First, be sure of what you mean by trinity.
Do you mean that God=Jesus?
Or do you mean that God willed the pregnancy of Mary and that Jesus was a very special prophet?
The problem for Muslims comes when you attribute man-like qualities to God (namely, having sexual relations to produce a child) and God-like qualities to a man (namely, calling Jesus "God").
Muslims agree that Jesus was blessed with many gifts that were not given to the other prophets, and that God willed for Mary to become pregnant. So there is no difference in the Muslim and Christian view.
The problem comes when you call God "father" and you call Jesus "God". Some Muslims see this as diefying a human and humanizing God, therefore not being monotheistic.

There is no concept of trinity in islam. Jesus was a human son of Mary with no father in other words son of a virgin ana God Has no issue no wife. This is clearly mention in Quran and in Bible Gospel of John that Jesus is not son of God.

God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit (3 in One)
!st answer above is good...3 leaf clover...( 3 leaves making One whole clover )
the one about water is the one I use
Water liquid, Water solid, Water vapor/steam...(All water in three forms)
Father, Son, Holy Spirit...All God ( All spirit, the Trinity, as water exists in 3 forms & as the 3 leaves of the clover make one whole) so the 3 terms for God are still one God...

the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit...I am a muslim and I understand the concept...I know its not easy explaining to some muslims coz its usually the way they r brought up...how their religious theachers taught them abt their religion...these religious teachers if they happen to be the fanatic radical kind..they will of course teach their students jus to believe Islam and not to bother to know the other religions...I know I have seen it happen..and there are those religious teachers who are so knowledagble abt other religions..they wud have read the bible, the bhagvad gita, the book of confuscious and they teach to respect other religions as they respect their own...I had those teachers along the way(and a few radical ones tooo...) and also due to my exposure to western culture when I was living abroad and most of my best frens being a christian whom I have followed to church and all I understand...

One god means the ESSENCE is one. imagine , you have seen your friend who is purchasing something in the market, after few minutes you have seen hi in his house eating food, after some time you have seen him driving his car. Person is the same doing the different activities in same time.
