Actually you can get a good description of the highlights from their main page at:
http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/
I mainly use it because of it's speed and tabbed browsing. It's very customizable and flexible as well.
The only thing that I personally have found IE to do better is display pages that were specifically designed for IE. These are becoming rare though. When I first started using it Yahoo LaunchCast didn't work with it. That was about a year ago. Now it works flawlessly. It's catching on fast and more and more websites are creating content that will work in both IE and FireFox.
It's very rare that I find a sight that doesn't work in FireFox. I use it almost exclusively. Don't just get it because it's more secure, get it because it makes your web browsing more enjoyable.
Note: This is my opinion based on my experience. Your mileage may vary.

My adventure informed me that firefox is safer than IE. yet firefox does not help particular web content. So i visit apply firefox for each and all the web content different than while i won't be able to see what I assume after a click or submission button, then I swap to IE. There are in basic terms too many viruses for IE !!! Oooh! in basic terms have been given automatic as much as date to a million.5.0.7 of firefox. that's quickly and candy. Ans. on your added archives. I depended on microsoft homestead windows automobile replace that they are somewhat attempting to maintain on updating homestead windows and explorer. yet there are in basic terms too many hackers to hack IE. So we extra advantageous stay far flung from IE at this 2nd. in spite of everything, in case you do no longer even have confidence microsoft, then you definately won't be able to use your laptop to ask your query. (cos you're making use of homestead windows to surf information superhighway, i assume) (properly, you have the different determination Mac)

Yes it is way more secure and it does accually speed up your internet. Also, It was the first to have tabbed browsing windows. I will never use IE again. My favorite feature by far it that you can double click on the adress (ex. the yahoo part of www.yahoo.com) and it will highlight everything between the dots (IE highlights the dots i think....or more).

Firefox allows you to block pop-ups. IE doesn't.
Firefox has extensions (e.g. google firefox site advisor for more info) that really add to the programs versatility.
Firefox enables multiple tabs in one program window for multiple sites. IE doesn't.
Firefox is faster than IE...don't technically know why...but I know it is...
