If you have a computer you don't mind trashing and losing all your data then go ahead and try some of the other suggestions for finding viruses and other malware.

The best protection AGAINST becoming infected is safe computing in the first place.

What you're doing is like taking a bullet proof vest and having people shoot at you. Sure the vest will protect you from most minor bullets. But what about the newer ones with armor piercing tips.<--(new viruses not in the anti-virus database yet) Or larger more powerful guns.<--(better written viruses)
Or they just shoot you in the head! <--(virus attack from an unexpected direction)

Just because you have a bullet proof vest DOES NOT mean your bullet proof. And just because you have anti-virus protection does NOT mean your computer is bullet proof ether.

You really don't want to do that. If you don't have a good firewall in place, there are some sites that will almost always sneak one in that won't be detected until it's too late. Then you're up the river without a paddle if your anti-virus can't fix it.

If you really want those sites, Google the words "cracks" and "serials" and take your choice. Good luck, you'll need it.

You cannot test it that way. It could find one and stop it and not know the definition of another and let it get thru.

There are over 50 thousand different ones, you would have to check each one and in the time it took you to do that another dozen would be created...

You get undercover agent ware from each mouse click on the cyber web. each little thing from from a cookie to three strains of code to malicious undercover agent ware that interferes with the operation of your computer. you're more desirable in all probability to get a pandemic from downloading an contaminated record, because the virus is going with it.

Check with your AV or a competitors web site. They often have test scripts to check your product.
