A flower arrangement or a decoupaged plaque would be easy and quick! You could use 1 in dia. PVC and make a sq. about 6-8 in. sq or rectangle. Wrap a piece of colored canvas around the sides and attach a light kit for a one of a kind hanging lamp. It could be sprayed black and use silver material and be used in the industrial or modern style.Or painted in bright colors for a child's room with material to match the curtains, etc. By the way I just thought this one up! You could have the square already made and the material hemmed if it needs it and just show how to attatach it all together.You would have to use a wire to connect the top to the light kit. show and tell usually means bring something from home and tell about it. any soldiers in the family? take something like medals or different hats they wear. anybody do any traveling? take something you bought in that country. Bird nests found with cracked open eggs, anything that belonged to a grandparent that is real old, an old rotary phone, rock collection, fossils, hamsters. I assume this is for a very young child. Remember they are new in the world and just about everything is still amazing to them. m

How about a sock puppet? Markers and glued pieces of felt and yarn and it would be done in no time.
Try putting various kinds of food products in baggies and bring a plastic bowl and show them how to make a trail mix .

children love to create let them glue small bits of color construction paper they tear with their fingers to a small box for a trinket box or on a frozen juice can for a pencil can then they can show off their work. Its easy and cheap. See my other answer to someone elce for more ideas.

grow a liveing plant like wheat, looks great takes 7 /10 days
and can be useful in cooking
or grow herbs any kind smells nice too

are we talking K and preschool.
They are always amazed by PVC pipe and how you can put it together with bends and couplers etc.
Explain thats how water gets places underground.
Let them put pieces together and take apart
