With all the other DVR's coming onto the market - does Tivo really stand a chance of remaining relevant and becoming profitable?

It is just more cost efficient to go with your cable provider's DVR because you do not have to buy the equipment and it is only an extra 5 bucks a month.

i don't think they will. dvr is really dominating to my knowledge. i know i love my dvr and it is a heck of a lot cheaper than tivo....
