if you have bats, you will need to have a professional come + rehouse them.
my family+i were the last family living in a block of maisonettes, that were due to be demoleshed.
after we had moved out, the city council had to rehouse the bats to a safe enviroment before the go-ahead was given for the demolision of the building.

They like to roost in attics. Assuming you have an attic, or even a crawl space up there, go out and get yourself three or four boxes of moth balls. The naptha in the moth balls is a scent that bats can't stand, and they'll vacate the premises in pretty short-order after you toss the mothballs all around the attic or crawl space flooring. You may not think you have an holes, but bats are capable of getting in through holes as small as a dime. Chances are you'll have to repeat the mothball treatment about once a year. Good luck,

A very simple way to remove a bat from your abode is to:

Take a peice of aluminum foil (or another reflective metallic foil) and wrinkle it into a ball, carefully unfold it and then hang it in the room the bat is flying in. When the bat attempts to use echo-location, it should have severe feedback and be unable to fly.

Cover the bat with a towel and take it outside and release it.

try waiting till day time when it goes to sleep.
Sneak up on it and grab him ( wear rubber gloves)or grab him with a towel.
If you have more than one call .... the animal control for your city, usually they have a person that deals with wild animals.
