No, Professor Diggory Kirk is not Mr Tumnus' father.

You can see Mr Tumnus's father in the movie, when Lucy is at his house. She looks at the portrait of a dignified, elderly faun, and Mr Tumnus says that was his father, and that he once fought in a battle for Narnia. It is clear Mr Tumnus Senior is deceased.

Professor Kirk never marries or has children, and may even be a virgin.

Maybe that's why they started with "Lion" instead of "Magician's Nephew." Just afraid of all the hassle of explaining that very fact.
