I have went 8 months without a period and I ended up hurting so bad that i went to the doctor. I had a cyst on my ovary. It finally ruptured and i bled for a week straight really bad. From then on I kept hurting so I went to my gyno. and he thought I had endometriosis. I had laprascopy done last october and it was endometriosis. I still have an irregular and I myself is trying to get pregnant. You do still ovulate when you don't have a period but it's hard to tell when you do ovulate. I bought a book called Getting Pregnant and it tells you when you should ovulate. Your mucus will change and your temperature will change by like a half of a degree. I would tell your friend to just keep track of her temperature every morning and that should help her out.

My friend was on bc and only had a period once a year.If she doesnt like not having a period then maybe she should try a different type of pill.At least she isnt bleeding the whole time i bleed for 3 mths straight when i tryed the shot.

I had something very similar to this and i went to so many doctors and tryed so many pills i got tired of it !!I stoped taking them. Later on i decided to loose weight and i did. Well as i lost weight my period got regular again. Then i stoped exercising and gained the weight back and my period was abnormal again so i noticed that my weight had everything to do with it. If your sister is on the chunky side maybe she sould give it a try (loosing weight)!!! If not then she should go to a specialist.

My cusions girlfriend didnt have a period for three years so assumed she could no longer have children. One day she got out of the shower infront of my cusion and he noticed her stomach looked different so he told her your pregnant.Turns out she is 5 months pregnant!Everything checked out fine with the ultrasound so shes due to have her surprise baby girl in mid November. The doctor told her she wasnt having periods due to the depo shot she had taken about four years ago.Strange but true.I would recommend she see a fertility expert though.

If she is not menstruating, she probably is not ovulating. There are numerous reasons that women do not menstruate. You have not indicated how old she is.

If she is traying to conceive, she should see a gynecologist that specializes in infertility.

Maybe she should go to a different dr. or ask hers to check her for ovarian systs.......my sister has them and she doesn't get her period, but she also was told that she may NOT have children either.......tell her to get it checked out now!!!!
