Your stomach is on your left side, partially tucked under your rib cage. You should not feel a pulse there. I, however, suspect that you, like too many others, refer to your abdomen as your stomach. There is an artery that runs down through this region. You may be feeling that.

the heartbeat you are feeling is coming from your thumb or finger you need a stethoscope to listen to a heartbeat in your stomach and a doplar if you are pregnant

Not unusual, but it's not the preferred method to detect a heartbeat.

Depends on your weight and age, and how hard you're pressing.

If you're young and skinny, no problem.

If you're middle-aged and/or overweight, no, it is not normal and can be (doesn't have to be) an abdominal aortic aneurysm.

your heart is right above your stomach, so yes, you can feel your heartbeat.
