Over time ,if it's not removed, makeup can seriously clog up your pores and cause pimples, acne, and all kinds of nasty things. That's why it's always important to take your makeup off at night.

You need to remove your makeup every night because if you don't it can clog your pores and cause blemishes and breakouts. I know this because I sell MaryKay, and it is very important to exfoliate your skin at night and let it breath. It also ages your skin faster when you do not remove your makeup at night.

Try reading the article:
Cosmetic Ingredients: Understanding the Puffery by Judith E. Foulke at:
http://www.fda.gov/fdac/reprints/puffery.html
But don't follow the link here because it's cut. Try typing the title at google.
But as a general advice, do not sleep at night with your makeup on because of the chemicals they contain that may be harsh to your skin. So beware. ;D

I'm not a female, but if you keep makeup on all night it will irritate your skin and your face will break out because your pores will not be able to breathe

Take off the foundation and stuff so it doesn't ruin your skin, and the eye makeup so it doesn't smear during the night...it gets old-looking and bad after a while, better to re-apply it!

Th makeup goes deeper into your pores because your face rubs against your pillow. That's what I heard. I always feel better when I wake up the next day when I wash my face.

So your skin can breathe. If you don't remove eye-makeup then you get dark circles under your eyes. The lipstick and all that, your lips will darken. And the rest, so your skin can breathe.

If you don't then you are along with leaving make up on your pillow, you aren't letting your skin "breath". Then when you do sleep at night without make up, your pillow case is dirty, even though you may not see it. Clean your face thoroughly before bed and again when you wake up and change your pillow cases often. Otherwise your face will probably break out.

Well I like to be clean when I go to bed. Makeup clogs your pores and creates blackheads and pimples

Leaving make up on your skin overnight will clog your pores. If done often enough, the clogged pores can lead to pimples, blemishes, etc.
