I have always been pretty bad at math and tutors do not really help. I forget the formulas for tests and quizzes and i am slow even with basic math. Any ideas for help? Im going into 9th grade.

OK hunny. An idea to help you start getting better at math would be to sit down and take notes during your class. anything your teacher writes on the board, write it down. Then take it out when you do your homework that night in case you need it. Make sure that your notes are thorough enough to help you out.

If you still cannot figure it out, find someone in your class who will be willing to help you out. Get their phone number so you can keep in touch while doing homework.

Believe me, I remember 9th grade and I needed all the help I could get.

Maths is something different from other subjects. All other subjects you can read and remember but for maths it is only workouts that help. Just like flying hours for pilots. It is only the number of problems you have worked out counts in mathematics. Therefore the best suggestion is do daily 3 or 4 problems and thats the magic you will be best in maths.

Practice doing the types of problems and come up with songs and stuff to help you remember formulas and such

It is the same no matter what subject. Pay attention in class and do your homework. Some people have strengths in other subjects.
