How accurate is eyewitness testimony? In your opinion, what kinds of protections, if any, are needed for a court to accept eye witness testimony?

The job of both the prosecution and defence is to make sure witnessess tell the truth. This is why you have cross examination.

Eye witness testimony is reliable, in most cases especially if it is close to the time of the incident. The greater the gap between the incident witnessed and the testimony being given, the greater the chance of it being inaccurate.
