People can walk through drive thrus or even ride a bike up to one. Usually on some drive thru sign there is a button you can push that rings in to the attendant. So you can still order your food the quick way no matter if you have a car or not.

Some drive-thrus are different than others. Having worked in 10 different locations I can tell you that at some of them golf-carts and or bikes can trip them others need an actual vehicle.

me and my cousin were riding bikes near a taco bell one night. We stopped, and decided to mess with the drive thru order taker. We stepped on the little rubber thing that signals to the order taker that a car has come through. We ordered like 18 tacos, 14 burrito supremes, and like 12 sodas. When he told us the total, like over $20.00, we took off on our bikes. Had to have been there! It was fun!
