I've owned:
Medusa: a 16 foot Retic. Python
Peanut Butter: a squirrel that fell out of a tree that my b/f cut down
Rocky: a raccoon that I had for about 4 weeks until we realized that he had rabies.
Jake: a miniature mule that tried to come in the house all of the time.
Cheech, Chong, Jack Daniels (J.D), and Chug: the rats that I got while working at Pet Warehouse b/c I couldn't bare the thought of a snake getting them.
Oscar and Kermit: the 2 wild baby rabbits that my dog Tucker brought into the garage to give me (they actually lived in my bedroom for about a year-before I let them stay out in the shed. They got out of thier cage all the time but always got back in....)
I've had a bunch more as well.
( I raise horses, cattle, sheep, you name it i've owned it!!)

We found two salamanders outside in our basement window well and tried to keep them in an aquarium in the house. They began looking very sickly so we released them by the lake behind our house. We had to buy crickets for them to eat. One day we came home and the crickets had chewed through the container and we had crickets all over the house! We then had a cricket round-up. Through the years, we've had hamsters and gerbils. We also have seven box turtles - 2 adult females and 5 young turtles. Box turtles are quite common in Kentucky and are pretty easy to care for if you don't have very many. It's best to leave them in the woods! Just what is it about people and their pets! I guess, the more, the merrier!

My family and I raised a baby raccoon from the time he was born until he was about two years of age. His mother had actually gotten hit by a car, and his other brothers and sisters were dead. He was in the road next to his mothers' body and when my son and his friends stopped the car they were in; he waddled over to my son and climbed up his pant leg. My son knew how much I loved animals, and could not drive away and leave the little guy to die; so he brought him home. My husband and I took him to a local vet after hours for shots and a check-up. It is actually illegal to keep the babies, but I couldn't let it die either. He was tons of fun to watch and even got along with our cat and dog. We had to release him back into the woods when he grew up. What a great experience this was for all of us. Have a good night!

My family has owned two raccoons... The last one we have had broke into out kitchen cabinets and ate all the oreos.. and when he climbed a tree, the only way to coax him down was with a twix bar! They are very smart animals!

Sugar glider. My brother gave her to us for Christmas in 2004. Her name is Nanner because he showed me how she could simultaneously climb up on a banana and eat it. She is so precious. She's in my T-shirt pocket right now!
