Everytime I turn my my computer off I have to delete my display adapter or the screen will show up fuzzy. I have a Matrox MGA G200 display card. The thing is, if I take out my sound card (Soundblaster pci 128) It works fine. I don't have to delete it then.

Everything worked fine with my old sound card in the same slot. It's just this one not working right. I've tried moving it to different slots but still no results. There is no video card on the motherboard.

Is your display card a AGP? Then put your sound card in a nother PCI. That will solve the problem. The hardware is conflicting, not the software.
As well some motherboards like the ASROCK demands that the graphics driver for the original motherboard graphics display should be removed before installing the graphics driver for the newly installed graphics card. do yo have two different graphics drivers? One for the card one for the motherboard? Delete them both and install the one for the card again.

Good luck with it!

sounds like the problem might be an IRQ conflict. try removing the display adapter and the adapter for your sound card, shutdown PC and reinstall the soundblaster pci card on a different pci slot, turn your PC back ON. if your display adapter is on a pci slot also try putting it in a different slot, this will intrinsically change the IRQ for each device on you PC. Hope this helps, good luck.

P.S. I suggest not to try changing the IRQ manually in BIOS

Its a long shot, but maybe your power supply can't handle all the cards/drives in your computer, try taking out a different card other than your sound card and see if the results are the same as when you take out your sound card.

(also try grabbing the newest driver for your video card, it may help)

Ive never seen it happen before, but if both cards are trying to share an IRQ (interrupt request) line it will cause big problems... I believe you can change the IRQ settings in your bios.

good luck

The Matrox and the SoundBlaster are trying to use the same resource , thus conflicting with each other, the need to be on different I/O's ( Input/Output) to work properly...
