I am not referring to the plant itself but the banana fruit which I think does not need sunlight to continue photosynthesis process. (Fruit is a product of photosynthesis).

Because they grow just like any normal plant. Towards sunlight.

All plants 'defy gravity' they seek to get closer to sunlight.

They curve up towards the sun trying to get more light.

the sun hits it from one side ,this causes the sun facing side to be warmer and dryer .
the bananas curve upwards.
any body else got a better explanation

bananas maconchi and macho
,grow more in the shade and are straighter
