The Great Basin is a series of watersheds, lakes, rivers and creeks that are trapped in such a way the water that falls as snow or as rain never flows to the ocean. It is absorbed by the ultra dry land and some might seep into the ground water system but none of it flows to the ocean. Some evaporates back into the air.
