You replace every x in the function with a+1:
f(a+1) = 3(a+1) + 3
f(a+1) = 3a + 3 + 3
f(a+1) = 3a + 6

Plug in a+1 wherever x is
F(a+1) = 3(a+1) + 3
F(a+1) = 3a +3 + 3
F(a+1) = 3a + 6
you could say f(homework) = 3homework +3

its simple...u plug in a+1 for x and get 3(a+1) +3 and then 3a+3+3 then 3a+6
f(x)=3a+6

i think its 6a+6 because 3(1)+3=6 and if x was 1 then f would be 6 and if that's true then 6(a+1) would be your new equation and 6a+6 would be your answer
