It will shutdown, and stop working, until you do activate it. It is required to use XP, why wouldn't you. Activate it, or lose it.. good luck

Actually, after the 14 days are up, Windows won't let you login until you activate it.

You could just wait the 14 days, and reinstall Windows, I think that gives you another 30 days.

Personally, I just do the activation, not the registration part.

If you are concerned because you are using a pirated copy, then you are screwed.

Other than that, it will simply quit working when your time expires. It's an unfortunate, but necessary security measure.

It will be a pain getting it back. Why not activate it? Only takes a couple of minutes. Your information is needed so you can get upgrades later on.

If you have a legal copy, Activate it.
If you don't find a key that you can use and then activate it or else your computer will STOP working.

You can't log in anymore and get access to your files without plugging the HD into a second PC and accessing the files that way.
