She is my fifth period pre ap science teacher. Yesterday was the first day and I already know that science will not be my favorite class. She is young. I am afraid I will mispronounce her name, {Mrs. Shipman} and she will get mad at me and I will go nuts. How can I get along with this grumpy teacher???

you just tell her ? look here Mrs. Sailerman you I will be in your class all year long so we have to lay some stuff out on the table so we don't get in the way of each other. First you have to know how this person works and she has to know how you work. Good luck with this piece of Shipman person attitude.

I used to have a real antsy bastard for physics when I was at high school. All I did was worked real hard in private, so I knew the course backwards, and then set about pissing him off. Because I knew the course so well, he still had to give me an A. Nothing is sweeter than forcing a teacher who hates you to give you an A.

She has to pour it on so that the other teachers and the principal will respect her. Wait til she gets tenure then she will mellow out. Tell the principal that she is strict and you are learning a lot from her.
Because she is young she doesn't want to be your friend and get arrested.

try being nice to her. most teachers are not very good at dealing with tough kids. their answer is usually to yell back or 'disicipline' them. try not to give her a reason to get mad at you. try to get to know her. i'm a teacher and one of my favorite things students do for me is when they ask thoughtful questions about my life. find something you have in common and build off that.
