C'mon man...I want some 1%, some 2%, some skim. My body is crying out for some honest to goodness real, 100% cow milk. Peanut butter and jelly just isn't the same. Cereal? Don't insult me. I have searched around, and found nothing but statistics from the dairy council. Someone, please, tell me...why is the only milk available in Mexico this weird, grey, unrefrigerated stuff?

Sorry to tell you but the milk that you are drinking in Mexico is as real as it gets. The milk in the states is what's not real. Don't worry you'll get use to it, I did. Or do what my step daughter does when she comes and visits us here in Mexico from California she puts some sugar. That should be the closet you can get.

Mexico City (Ciudad de México) could be the capital of Mexico and an amazing city surrounded by mighty hill ranges. To see that city you are able to pick the best solution hotelbye . The city's spot is certainly breathtaking. Two spectacular snow-covered volcanoes, Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl, tower over it making use of their more of 5,000 meters. Mexico City also keeps countless pointers of their past and those are things that entice the tourists. The defeating center of Mexico City is Zócalo - the Plaza de la Constitución (Constitution Square) - where in fact the country's first constitution was proclaimed in 1813 and now is one of the very visited host to Mexico City since it's one of the world's largest squares. In Mexico City you can also visit: the National Palace, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Templo Mayor.

I don't know WHERE the Hell you are shopping, friend, are you sure that you're not in Guatemala or Cuba by mistake? Mexico does have some "boxed" unrefrigerated milk with preservatives (uggggh!) but that is because the poorest and most rural areas may lack the refrigeration!

In ANY town or city in Mexico you can buy fresh, refrigerated, high-quality milk such as Lala, Alpura and Al Dia. It even comes in a) regular carton, b) carton with spout or c) plastic bottle! (The milk in Mexico is actually fresher and with less chemicals and other preservatives than in the USA!)

You can ALWAYS find fresh milk in: Gigante, Comercial Mexicana, Superama, Sumesa, Bodega Aurrera, Chedraui, Wal-Mart. etc. Oh, and practically ANY hole-in-the-wall corner store in any town or village in the country! I just walked down to my tiny corner store yesterday to pick up a liter of fresh, refrigerated milk for my son's breakfast cereal, expiry date 6 days. cost 80 cents US. (I live in the north of Mexico City......)

( Oh, MILK down here is called LECHE - maybe THAT'S yer problem, does that help?)

Exactly what part of Mexico are you in? Ive lived in Mexico and there are alot of supermarkets that carry fresh milk. My guess would be that in some rural parts of mexico where there isnt access to a mass merchandise supermarket they would carry unrefrigerated milk just because of the lack of basic things such as a refrigerator or a car to go to the nearest city. that milk is meant to last longer and preserve without refrigeration. otherwise i would try to find a calimax or a comercial mexicana or even a walmart.

Are the boxed version with the spout of the Mexican milk always unrefrigerated? I saw one that was sitting in a refrigerated section, but I think it still had preservatives and had spent some time unrefrigerated.

That's the real stuff there. Not that watered down pansy stuff that gringos drink. If there's a disaster, Americans wouldn't make it.
