no it won't. it usually goes into power saving mode when the mouse or keyboard is not in use after like 10-15 minutes. if you have a desktop, turn off the monitor, it will not disrupt the downloading.

Short answer: No way.
It's not likely your monitor will burn out by leaving it on overnight. I guess it depends on your monitor though. If you leave it on every night, it would still take awhile.
Solution, however, is to turn off your monitor. You don't need to keep it on for your computer to run, and if you do need to keep it on for some reason, get a screensaver. I'd recommend getting a screen saver that was just all black. And then you won't have to worry about it.

Limewire is loaded with virus's! You probably wont have a computer by the morning if you leave it. I have a MAC and it doesn't get virus's but it sure still created a mess of my computer and had to have it cleaned out. I could not download anything from limewire because of the mess it caused. Good luck, its your computer, just be careful.

Many industrial sites leave computers on 24/7 and so do I but use a screen saver to avoid burn out.

No it won't. I have left my monitor on 24/7 for years now and it hasn't burnt up yet....but if ur worried u could just turn off the monitor while leaving the computer on to download. (usually there is a little button on the monitor just below the screen, and if you push it, it will turn the monitor off) (in case u didn't know)..

No but it can shorten your monitor's life. In the long run, technically, it would "burn out" your monitor. You should turn off the monitor as it does not need to be left with power turned on during the download process.

No it wont explode if you leave it on. But you will have to hit it over and over again to get it to turn back on. So i recommend on using either a stick or a hammer or a tire iron. Dont want your hand to get hurt from all that beating. If that dont work just pick it up and drop it onto the floor a couple of times. That will get it to work again. Just remember the beating must be very hard.

No, your monitor would be just fine. However, you do not need to leave your monitor on to download files overnight. You can simply turn it off, then turn it on in the morning when you are checking the status of the download.

Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, Power Options.
Think for a minute, then make your settings.
I let my monitor "go to sleep" after 3 minutes of inactivity, and system standby after 10 minutes. Download will continue.
