Okay. It says for the Placement Codes: "Copy and paste the codes above to your HTML page where you want to embed the shoutbox. Be sure to copy and use the codes below too."

Then for the Styling Codes: "Then copy and paste the codes above to your HTML page just before the tag."

I have no idea what that means. I looked at the html code for the first section and there is nothing labelled .

I just want to put a shoutbox at my Myspace page and don't remember it being this complex before when I did one months ago for a blogspot.com site.

Can someone please help me? I'd be really grateful.

A typical web page should have some minimal information (tags) including:
html
head
body
with a closing tag for each and the head and body within the html tags. I'd be surprised if your myspace page doesn't have any header information, but if it really doesn't just make one. Put the data you want to copy between .

Hi. HTML has some standard tags that let the web browser know what is what inside the document. The extremely basic html page looks like this:



Shoutmix.com means somewhere in there between the head tags. If you can't find one, maybe it meant for you to put it in yourself.

is a tag used to end this tag ... everything between those two tags is referred to as the header.
