I am looking for a decent chat room for serious music and music memorbilia collectors. Most of the sites I have found have been overrun with idiotic conversations going nowhere.

I don't know for sure of CHATrooms, but I do know of good message boads.
Go to teenspot.com, the music board. People there are very serious about music, you just have to find the right posts.
