Do you not qualify for medicaid? You really need to get her to a Dr. She could have hearing loss if you let it get too bad.

Your daughter has an inner ear infection and needs antibiotics honey. Stop putting the peroxide in her ear, it's only making it worse. To ease her pain, give her some motrin...not tylenol, because Motrin is an NSAID, which helps with inflamation, as well as pain. Then if you have a heating pad, set it on a medium setting and lay her head on it(closest to the ear that's hurting her). Keep her on that for as long as you can...it eases the pain tremendously. If it doesn't clear up within 24 hrs, you are going to have to take her in somewhere, because a small ear-ache can spiral out of control rather quickly in a little one. I know you mentioned that you don't have insurance, so check with your local community service programs or call the hospital to find a free clinic...every town has them, you just have to search a little. I hope this helps...I've been there a million times. Just make sure that if she's had it longer than three days, you take her in, even if it's to the ER,worry about the bill later. The hospital will take payments...you daughter can't. Not saying that to be mean, I know you need help...I'm just saying to worry about the financial burden later...there are always ways to get around that. You can apply for state insurance and they will back date it for you.

Except that the er can cost much more than seeing a pediatrician. Call around and find a dr that will work with you on payments. There may be a clinic in your area- they are usually lower priced.
Meanwhile try putting a little heat under the ear to help with the pain and see if she can sleep with her head up a bit so the fluid doesn't collect as much. Milk products can accentuate the congestion so avoid them.
I had many many earaches as a child and yes my eardrum ruptured a few times. It can cause residual hearing loss but that's usually when it happens again and again. Meds didn't work well for me so the dr's also had to cut my eardrum sometimes to help it drain- very painful, but not common, I think.
That's my experience- take care.

Ear aches and infections and the pain that is associated with them usually worsens at night just like when you have a cold. I understand not having insurance as I have a 14 with many disabilities that did not have coverage for quite a while. There are many different programs, even through your family Dr that you may qualify for. Make sure to call and talk to their billing department. And yes if it is an infection and it worsens it could cause hearing loss and even rupture the ear drum so make sure to get this looked at asap. Even if you have to take her to an ER the small price you may have ot pay will be worth it.Good Luck

Your baby has an ear infection. If you let it go she could lose her hearing permanetly. Take her to the nearest emergency room. Its not going to get better by what you are doing, peroxide will not cure infections. You can give her some tempory relief on the way to the emergency room by placing a warm (not hot) on the affected ear.

Take her to the doctors, i realize that u said u dont have any insurance, but if u go to your County hospital they have to take u in the ER whether u have insurance or not , then u pay them 10.00 a month till u pay the bill off as long as u pay them 10.00 a month they cant touch u .. (collectors) But if the earache has lasted longer the 24 hours then she definately needs to be seen by a pediatrician and needs antibotics.. so please take her to the ER..

Take her to the emergancy room of your local childrens hospital. They cant refuse you because of your inability to pay and if this turns out to be something really major and you let it go on and something bad happens to her you could be reported for child neglect.
Of course she could just not want to go to bed and is looking for an excuse to stay up. Try reading her a bedtime story and when its time to go to bed turn the light off, close the door and walk out. Let her cry if she has to, its not going to hurt her.

Go to the health clinic.
In the meantime, it may sound strange but when I was little with an earache, my mom blew cigarette smoke in my ear and it soothed the pain, you can also try a heating pad to the ear.

There should be a free clinic in the phonebook. Take her to the doc. She may feel the pain just when she lays down. My daughter will sometimes tell me her tummy hurts its a ploy to stay up.

I would never let my baby suffer this long! Take her to the ER! They have to help you even if you don't have money or insurance & if there is a children's hospital close, they usually have a program for poor ppl!For God's sake!Don't make her suffer anymore!

I'm sorry but the only solution would be to give her some medicines. Can't you take her to a clinic that offers free care? I'm pretty sure there is one where you live. Good luck.
