I'm modelling some infantry from the Regiment du Marche du Tchad, part of the Deuxieme Division Blindee in 1944 and 1945. I've found a source that says they were armed with M1 Garand rifles, and another source that says they didn't receive M1s (and instead fought with Springfields/Enfields/Lebels/Brens/FMs). None of the photographs I've found have been clear enough to tell.

As far as I know the French had American material and no English material.
But it is not so simple has should be.
Some troops that where evacuated in 40 to England used English material.
Many units came from the French colonies and had still their Lebels, Mas (French guns) and used them till they wore out.
Later new units formed in French had Garands of the American when the old French stock where finished.
So everyone is rights. It depends where and when the unit was created.

the french regiments where provided with American material. It seems me very strange that thy who'd use English/french material . Perhaps that they found somewhere some non American weapons that they put in use but that would be in very limited Numbers .
