If you are a mute and you cannot talk, how do you communicate this to people when you go to stores and stuff? Is there a sign you wear or a signal or do you just write down everything? Because not everybody knows sign language.... plz help!

I would just point at the thing I want to buy or if that doesn't work, I'll write it down and I'll keep a book and pen handy.

I used to work at a store and these people would come in every once in awhile who were deaf. I know it's not the same as mute but they sign to each other and write everything down for me.

I guess a lot of people that are mute have this problem. I think carrying a note pad with a pencil, so you can write what you want to communicate.
I had a sister (she passed away) and she was a mute..she had the same issue!

I used to have a customer at my store who was mute. He would use a dry erase board or come in with a family member.

It seems the best way would to be just to write it down seeing as you can describe what you want or how many you want of that object...its basically talking but on paper..

try carrying a note pad and pencil(pen) around with you when you go to the store, then you can write it down.
