It's a file hosting website in germany (most likely), and it's used for people who want to distribute semi-large files (30mb and up). Theres a premium service for those who want faster downloads.

www.rapidshare.de is a site which helps to share large files among internet users. For example: if you have a big file like a Video CD which you want to send to all of your relatives & friends. Now what u can do? You can't send it as an e-mail attachment. Now, just visit rapidshare. Upload your file. Rapidshare will give you a link to download that file. Now, email that link to your friends. They'll just click on it and download that file.

It's a service, which helps us to share our files. For example you want to publish something and you need some virtual space, you can upload your files to rapidshare, then other people can download it whith the link you get from rapidshare.
