FLORIDA STATE VS. MIAMI
They have played their last two meetings on Labor Day jump starting the college football season and this year's game is no different. The two teams combined have over 110 active players in the NFL. No other rivalry in college football displays the kind of speed, and skill that these two teams display every year. Just this past NFL Draft FSU had 4 players taken in the first round. And two years before that Miami had 6 guys go first round. ABC booked this game to be played on Labor Day for the entire world to see for a reason, all the drama and suspense that comes along with it is what college football fans crave. The last 3 meeting have been decided by only 11 points. This is the ultimate struggle for superiority of the state of Florida, not to mention unprecedented bragging rights.

All of the top ones are good for plenty of reasons. Texas vs. OU, OSU vs. Michigan, etc. One of the most underrated is Clemson vs. South Carolina. Two in state teams, just like Auburn vs. Alabama, where you can toss the records aside, and families divide for one Saturday a year. There may not have been as many as great games as other rivalries have, but who can forget the game in 2004, when all hell broke loose on the field, and practically everyone was out there swinging. Made the state look like a bunch of stupid rednecks all over national TV, but you can't get much more of a rivalry than when the police are on the field, and helmets are getting ripped off and thrown everywhere.

Obviously it is Michigan-Ohio St. Woody vs Bo. You also cant leave out Michigan vs Notre Dame. The two most winningest programs. I've been to a Michigan/Notre Dame game, and it was crazy at Michigan Stadium. 111,500 people chanting 'F*ck the Irish'. After the Michigan/Ohio St. rivalry though I would place Alabama/Auburn, Pitt/W. Virginia, Florida/Florida St. and then Oklahoma/Texas. There are many good rivalries, but nothing that can top UM/OSU.

West Virginia and Pitt the backyard brawl..it is the best rivalry in college football because from year to year no matter who is the better team you really never know who might win.

Army - Navy. No other rivalry divides the nation, not just a region of the country.
Statswise, it's also the closest, as Navy leads the all-time series 50-49-7.

Alabama vs Auburn. It divides an entire state. When you live in 'Bama, you have to choose a team, it's either "Roll Tide" or "War Eagle". People are insane about this rivalry! I've read about brothers actually shooting each other to death after this game. Football in the South is crazy, but 'Bama vs Auburn takes it to a totally different level.

Without question the top rivalry is Harvard vs Yale. Why one season my dear friend Chip got into such a tiff with his best gal Chutney, oh man it was a lark!
