I just did a couple of weeks ago that I was there (Job). Offcourse isn't something permanent...
I did it with a rent-a-car and the permit was OK as for the 3 months of my visitors visa, if is a regular car, you have to go show your license and your permission to stay in Australia.
If you have a working permit, logically will get the resident non migrant license and will be the end of the history...
Anyhow you can drive one way or another there...

For 3 months only, if you need for longer you should get an International licence which has a 12mth expiry. If you apply to stay you have to do a knowledge & driving test, & then you will be issued with a black licence for 1-3 years.

Yes, you can drive in australia with a singapore driving license, 'cos it is in english.

i think you can for only like a month or so, but it would be a good idea to try to get an international liscence
