i am from the philippines and personally americans are weird, do they really need to know what is the shampoo of britney spears???frankly is that all what americans are up too, celebrities????

I think it's a carryover from the 1930's. When our country was in the throes of a depression people on the silver screen made their lives disappear and they could escape into fantasy.
It's just progressed from there. And no I don't think we really care about what shampoo they use, etc......
I personally love to read about their lives. It blows my mind sometimes to see how much they have and not realize it. If this world wasn't so screwed up, we wouldn't need them.

its quite the opposite, its all people from outside the country who are obsessed with celebrities. You are from the Philippines and you spelled Britney Spears properly, so you must know a thing or two about celebs!

actually most ppl i know or work with don't give a s*hit about celebrities. only a few do. it's just on a website they are all together and seems like a lot. i know a couple of people that read those magazines but they don't obsess, they have lives of their own. AND REALLY. many other countries are obsessed with American celebrities more than Americans are. in Britain, France and Germany, American music stars are very popular..

Americans in general are not obsessed with Hollywood.
You have the wrong impression of most Americans. Don't believe everything you read and only half of what you see. I myself could care less about all the hype coming out of Hollywood. I hope my answer to you make you think better of us.

I think that is probably what the media has shown you. Most American people don't care much about celebrities at all. It's really not how you think it is at all.

not even 20% of America cares about holly wood or B. Spears your generalizing and that's not correct. I could do the same about Philippians's and say you all eat dog and that isn't true now is it?

I think you get a twisted sense of it from what ever media you are getting your info from. I would say the majority of Americans are more concerned with their families and careers.
