You can't. It's there forever. It may fade, but that's about all it's going to do. Make a "Best Case" out of it and add a smiley face or LOL at the end.
It will look like you did it on purpose and your going to always know those gym shorts are yours!

try the product "goof off".
it can be found in the paint section of any hardware store.
use it outdoors, put a small amount on the mark and rub together.
if it works throw the shorts in the wash.
i've got paint out that was rubbed in and dried for over a year on a pair of my shorts.

i m not sure if it is the best way but one time i accidently drew on my table with a permante maker and i just soak some nail polish remover and just trying to rub it in. it works for me. but for your situation did u wrote it on the cotton or on the plactic part.
with nail polish remove it will work on the plactis part but if it happen on the cotton, i think u better of just buy the bleach pens and follow the instruction, the bleach pen is for extreme stink.

If it is the permanent water-proof type, you can't get it out...you'll have to get new gym shorts and try again.

Nail polish remover, if you wrote it on the "label area." If you wrote it on fabric, try an Oxi Clean Stain Removal Pen- I have heard good things about it.

I always use rubbing alcohol to get it off of my plastic water bottles and stuff like that, but I have never tried it on cloth. I don't know of anything else that will work.
