This is a good question because now you have me thinking about it.

I'm not sure "believe" is the right word, but I certainly assume my consciousness will be nonexistent. I have no reason to think otherwise.

My physical body will still be around for a while, till the atoms making it up eventually go their separate ways.

I try not to worry about it, after all is said and done...I'll be dead so what difference will it make to me. Of those people I have known that are no longer living, they're not dead until I forget about them. As far as an afterlife? Not real sure I would want a second go around this life hasn't had too many high points yet.

I do not think.. but I know... I will be in Heaven when I die... As I have accepted Jesus into my heart as my Lord and Savior... John 3:16 in the Bible is a good place to start to understand what will happen after this life in over and your Life in Christ will begin... Good Luck :)

N, H, O, Ca, Fe, and many other elements in me will go back to nature and recombine later into something else.

additional--
My life will be remembered by my family, my friends and acquaintances, and even my enemies. I am not going to be totally non-existant after I die.

there is no life after death. all life ceases to exist once you are gone. you may be existant in others thoughts but your physical being is gone and since I don't believe in having a soul as far as religion is concerned, that is it. there is nothing left of you but things that can be associated with you and the memories that others hold.

now, if you are religious it's right to believe that you are going to a better place(if you did the right things) and in that place you will be existant, maybe not in the physical, but in the spiritual being.

Nobody dies. We go to the world that we have created in this life by the actions we have performed, by our thoughts and desires, and we see again the people who we have loved, and who have loved, or hated us, we pay back all the things we have taken which we had no right to, and we get back all of the things that have been taken from us, etc.

Who really knows? There have been stories about ghosts probably as far back as when humans first had language. Being educated, I would have to say no, but having had experiences that could be construed as having been contacted by spirits, I would have to say yes. Who really knows?

first, we have to understand why we die.

the Bible says that we die because of sin. Romans 6:23 says "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

we were not originally created to die. we were meant to live eternally with God. but because of sin, we die.

God's solution to this is by sacrificing His only Son, Jesus Christ (who had no sin). Since Jesus had no sin, death had no control over Him. He rose again from the dead and is now with God interceding for us. Jesus will come again to judge both the living and the dead. if you have trusted in what Jesus did and made Him your Lord and Savior you will live with Him forever.

so, to answer, we will be judged according to our deeds while alive to determine where we will go eternally.

hope this helps.
