Many times I feel myself obliged to compromise, in spite of my will. However, I stand up as far as possible.

Psychologists like Jung and Berne posited that most people like to be externally validated. That is, most people look outside to other people to know if they are on the right track or not.

This approach is safe and keeps you cosy in a comfort zone.

I believe that very few of us on this planet have evolved to the point of being internally validated. We don't trust our hearts.

And also we don't believe in what is not out there already. Most of the things we believe in are mainstream - phenomena that CNN, Fox, MSNBC, and BBC broadcast. How many of us believe in extraterrestrial intelligent life? And how many of us believe that Jesus was married, had sex, and fathered children?

We believe in so little that has not been already validated; that leaves us very little to stand up for.

Stand up for what I believe in.. Why live my life trying to make others happy when I am not? For example, if someone is smoking near me at a public event (which is now illegal in Australia) I will not hesitate to tell them to move away from me. You know where I am coming from?

I conform. Getting beat up for my beliefs just isn't worth it.
