Since the little boogers don't come with an instruction manual, the best way is to do some of the positive things your folks did. If they were not good parants, do the opposite of what they did. Keep good comunication with the kid. Talk a lot with them. be very nosey!! Always do searches of their room. Look for cantraband. My boy had a thing for a long time of collecting bras and panties of his G/f's.. (brat has more g/f's then ever had) Always know where they are going, who they are with, and they name and contact number of the other kids parents. and just for fun...do random drug tests on them. It freaks them out and keeps them clean. Be hard-core when they need it and always have patience. Remember that its your job to raise a good human being. Good luck!

No one knows at first. It just comes to you. Use Lots of Love and care. Do not let your kid rule your world, just be your world. Watch others with Kids, and Read Mommy Magazines. Just Take it Day by day. It goes by really fast, they grow up before you know it. You can do it Good Luck!

well your job as a parent of care giver is to teach them right from wrong, remember you are NOT their friend but their provider, protector and are their to guide. Be stern yet compassionate, caring and watchful and from now on they should be your main priority in life until they are about16(then you can loosen up and party) so all that you do should have their best interest in heart and by done with the goal of making them a productive and well rounded member of society

Just like everyone else.
Prop him up in front of the TV and when he's old enough send him to daycare, then preschool and eventually elementary school, after a little while they will be able to take care of themselves and be able to tell you whats wrong with you.
Then you will know the job is done.

What do you mean? To name a few points...you raise a child with love, common sense, intelligence, money, compassion, empathy, rules, forgiveness, tolerance, and most of all PATIENCE.

Remember that YOU are the parent, and You do the decision making (with love and firmness). Don't let your child run your life, but you must guide his. All children try their boundaries. Its up to you to show them where the fence is.
