No. Arkansas used to be situated just north of the North Pole. It slowly melted and trickled down to where it currently resides in the southern U.S.

I would think so...since its in the south down here we've always been called southerners...so yes in short ARKANSAS has always been a southern state....GOOD Luck....and GOD BLESS....
